We Push Against the Exploitative Standards in the Coffee Industry, with Love and Intention
It's tempting to pick the easiest and cost-effective options in an industry that holds relatively low profit margins. It's easy to compromise on ethics for the sake of quality and affordability. My goals and dreams for this company and what it represents pushes against the norms we've become familiar with in coffee.
I'm tired of underpaid farmers & baristas, toxic work cultures & unfair expectations, and disconnected owners who don't understand the industry.
By telling farmer's stories and working with suppliers that put work into ethical treatment and activism, we can continue our journey of uncompromising quality and attention that really means something to us.
We want to build a space full of love, care, and intention. Every coffee we roast, every employee we ever hire, and every person we ever work with.
As we grow, we will begin to post our consolidated "impact report", where we will update the ways we contribute to our community and industry. Additionally, it will provide transparency on how we can strive to do better.
We want to be proud of our successes while also being open to learning and growing from everyone around us. To us, this is what community means.
